Admission Requirements

LIGHTHOUSE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY is an institution of learning with the objective of providing an education that is centered on Jesus Christ. Our goal is to promote obedience to Christ in the spiritual, intellectual, physical, and social development of each child. Our school aims to complement the home in producing students who are dedicated to God. Though our standards of behavior and discipline are high, we do not attempt to be a reform school for students who do not do well in other schools. We do not accept students who have a previous history of disciplinary or behavioral problems unless there is adequate demonstration that these issues have been rectified. Additionally, we will not accept a student who does not choose to be enrolled with us. We cannot teach a child who is not willing to cooperate.

Lighthouse Christian Academy’s role, in cooperation with the home and church, is to provide a Christ-centered education. It is our desire to promote a strong relationship between the family, church and school. Thus, we have the following expectations for all families:

  • To have an active church life
  • To work together with the school to provide Christian nurture and to maintain Christian standards, policies, and procedures
  • To support the school in prayer and be active in school affairs and functions
  • To faithfully meet all financial obligations to the school

We expect parents to be involved both in helping their child with any school work and in extra curricular activities, as much as possible. Lighthouse Christian Academy does not discriminate based on race, color, national or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational or admission policies. All children are entitled to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities available to students when accepted for enrollment in LIGHTHOUSE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY.

Our Curriculum

Lighthouse Christian Academy is dedicated to providing a quality education from a Christian prospective; which is why we have chosen the ABeka Book curriculum. ABeka Book is a curriculum based on a combination of teacher instruction and workbooks that has been developed and refined over a period of more than 30 years in the classrooms of Pensacola Christian School.

ABeka Book’s Reading Program is based on intensive phonics instruction and leads to early independence in reading by developing early word-analysis and comprehension skills. By the end of the first grade, most students can read comprehensively and write with understanding. The wide variety of quality reading selection stimulates the student’s appreciation of literature and enjoyment of reading.

ABeka Book’s math curriculum is a classroom-proven program of practice workbooks and teacher instruction. It teaches students to believe in the absolutes of the universe, to work diligently to get the right answers and to see the fact of mathematics as part of the truth and order that God has built into the real universe. Science and History are taught from textbooks, which offer students a Christian, and conservative approach to the study of what man has done with the time God has given him.

In addition to the core curriculum, LCA also has a weekly chapel service with student participation, extra-curricular activities such as dramas, field trips, special fun days, an activity fair, an awards service at the end of the school year and a graduation banquet for Jr.-Sr. high students.

If you are interested in requesting enrollment after reviewing this information, return the enclosed application packet as soon as possible. Because of the limitation of our facilities, we have a waiting list for enrollment. Therefore, the sooner you return the application packet, the better chance your child has of being accepted to LIGHTHOUSE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY this coming year.

If you have any questions or would like to view the classrooms and our facilities, please feel free to contact the school office at (909) 820-2191 between 9:00am-3:00pm, Tuesday-Friday.
